(BUSINESS WIRE)--As part of the twenty-fifth anniversary of the founding of the Emory-Tibet Partnership, Emory University will host a webinar titled “Compassion Revolution: Understanding and Responding to the Dalai Lama’s Vision for the Future” on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at 11am EST.

The webinar is a Global Awareness Event for the Compassion Shift Initiative. Participation is open to all and pre-registration is required at: https://tinyurl.com/AdvanceCompassion.
His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s vision for a future world focused on compassion has never been timelier: his recent call for a ‘compassion revolution’ is neither a political nor economic plea, but rather based on basic human values shared by all.
The webinar will address the meaning behind the Dalai Lama’s entreaty, how citizens might help bring it about, and highlight the work of Emory’s Compassion Center as it responds to the Dalai Lama’s challenge.
Twenty-five years ago, in the presence of Emory University Presidential Distinguished Professor, His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Emory signed the Emory-Tibet Partnership. By 2017 the collaboration had evolved into a robust, global center of education and research called The Center for Contemplative Science and Compassion-Based Ethics (aka, Emory Compassion Center). The Emory Compassion Center works alongside scientists, educators, contemplatives, and philanthropists to pioneer programs at the intersection of science and spirituality.
The Compassion Shift Initiative is generously supported by founding benefactors the Rob & Melani Walton Foundation and the Gaden Phodrang Foundation of the Dalai Lama, and other significant donors. To learn more about the Compassion Shift Initiative, visit https://compassionshift.emory.edu.
